Stuck between a bullet and a target....

You know what...I love this country...I mean really. (no sarcasm) America is the greatest country in the world but I'm friggidiggin pissd at the way the system seems to be setup to continually hold people down. When did it become ok to opress and hold people down ? When was it ok to lie to a man and tell him you were gonna help him shape his future, and you in reality are using him to fuel your greed and anger in an unorganized expedition ? I dont get it , but thats ok, but to kinda set the mood I'm gonna do something different and include music early on in this edition so you all can feel where I'm comin from.

Music: Today's blog's music is a song called Bullet by Rhymefest

So now that you've listened to the song you can see kinda how i feel. What have we done as a country ?Where have our morals and our standards fallen to ? Now before I get some idiotic self-apraised american loving fool that tries to say I dont love this country and am disrespectful , please realize this. I am the son of a family that has served night and day , through cold and heat, through birthdays through ceremonies ,through my whole childhood for the wellbeing of this country. So before you judge me for blasting the ridiculous issues of our country, just realize that I love this country.

OK OK... so what the fuck is up with the system that oppresses and holds down our lower class citizens. They tell you as you grow up that lower class never means second class but its evident that society is setup to force the heads of those near the bottom under water. Its about time we stand up and demand a change be made, a difference, a look be taken at how wild and ridiculous welfare is.

Now if we look at why welfare was formed, we'd pretty much all say it was set up to help, and that those that are stuck in the system are there because they are all lazy, smelly ,worthless bits of society. Well at least thats the view alot of church folk have. What we dont get is the fact that a mother who is able to feed her children while under welfare is forced to stay on welfare just to keep her lil ones from starving. When you try and step up outa the trap, your food money and housing options are cut. If you even attempt to attend school or step through the lowest class in this country , your healthcare is taken from you. Now this seems ironic for the country that swears it loves everyone and is a place for all to succeed. I dont see how you can succeed when you're forced between a bullet and a hard place. I mean How do we ask a mother to choose between getting help so her kids are ok ,and living in govt housing , and stepping out and getting a job that will leave her in a worse financial position then she was while she sat at home? I apologize to those of you that I've scorned or laughed at. I was blessed to be in a military home, which was by NO means a cakewalk ,but always afforded me healthcare. (Good thing cause my tale was always flippin off buildings and doing tricks and all.) But do you see what I'm saying?

How is it that the same system thats supposed to help is allowed to stay in place while it gradually strangles a whole section of society out of our nice neighborhoods, away from our good schools, away from our view ?

Do I know how to fix the system ? HELL no!!! But I can tell you that something needs to be done. I was soo angry when I got a call from a female friend today. She happens to be a single mom who isnt yet receiving child support and she was telling me about her struggles to make it in this world. She lives with her mom , but has been through hard times. Like any responsible adult she reached out to the different help systems in place and was repeatedly beat down and hurt. They told her she had to quit school..which she wasnt paying for basically ( grants cause she doesnt hardly make any money ) and she couldnt receive food stamps for her son to eat with because of her mom's income. She then asked what she could do , and was told that she had to ..YUP YOU ARE HEARING ME CORRECTLY, SHE WAS TOLD SHE HAD TO QUIT HER JOB , QUIT SCHOOL ,AND MOVE OUT OF THE HOUSE BEFORE SHE COULD RECEIVE HELP. How do we penalize a young woman who is doing her best to make it , and to become a productive part of our world. The system tries to force everyone into the trap. Upper society feeds off the needy. I mean, who would do the work if we didnt have immigrants and mis-fortuned people at the bottom?

Here is another example of a vicious cycle that is dam hard to break. You take a child of an adult who was in a bad position, and has to be gone just to keep socks on their child. This child then is forced to fend for themselves and is already implanted in an environment that is not conducive to learning, but on top of that the heroes surrounding him are all dealers /bangers/pimps. The child can't see outside scope of their environment yet, and the parents which is usually (parent) is forced to work 2 or 3 jobs in an attempt to get out of the gunfights and prostitution and drugs. This child is then labelled as trouble maker in school and thrown into the slow group when all they needed was some love and some help. All most children need is someone to believe in them. And here they are, with young minds and hurt hearts in a situation where they are already labelled misfits..you see, the whole cycle is fkd up. At some point everyone DOES have to account for their actions. I do see tho why people end up in gangs , on drugs, etc. Its a hide away for a hurting soul. You see just in general this country is fkd up in alot of ways. I still definitely would rather live here then in say , Somalia , or Mexico , but in general we have alot of problems.

I'd really like to see money taken away from searching for new species of tuna in the arctic and put towards education , and towards programs that are there to help to move people through the barrier of the system into normal life. It inst our responsibility to raise everyone, but it is our responsibility to reach out and help each other out when we are hurting, when we are down. Who will be the one to reach out and say hey , I don't give a dam where you came from or who you murdered, or what you've snorted, or who you've had sex with, but I am here for you brother or sister. When are we as a people going to grab hold of each other and pull ourselves up through this garbage. when are we gonna stop belittling articulate people, and laughing at our professionals. When are we going to learn to act with dignity and integrity , and learn to speak correctly. When are we going to hold our congressman and cabinet men responsible for their actions. I honestly don't know the answer...some say things will never change, but I for one believe that if enough become outraged, that we can change things.

Lets hold each other accountable , lets vote , let us become the country that we claim ourselves to be.

I dream of the day a poor man has an option other then the military to provide for his family. ( I appreciate our soldiers ) Its sad though that some are forced into this way of life, with no choice.

Ok. I'm done for now with that.

Tuna Caeser sandwiches and Nor'easters

So you know I REALLY miss California today. In the East here there is something called a Nor'easter which is keyword for big ass storm that isn't a hurricane. Its been rainin and gustin non stop for 3 days now and foolz been forced to swagg and surf their way through the parkin lots as they run into Walmart. By them, I mean me. I would forget where i parked during a monsoon. by the time I found my car, I looked like rick ross if he had fought jaws in the ocean. I was gonna blog earlier but decided i needed to be in a Sampson state of mind so I waited till..well..its 1:34 am. Something about reconnecting with old friends and eating tuna fish sandwiches with caeser dressing puts you in the correct blogger mood.

I decided today that I was gonna forgive ALOT of people. And you know what.. surprise to me: It actually made me feel better. You see i think i still have alot of anger and malice built up in me from middle school. If I could go back i would have been a convict cuz is surely wuda beat the hell outa a few suckaz , but newayz. So needless to say I get pissed quickly and thats not good ,but I'm working on it. till then , i hope the mf'er at the club learned his lesson. Sorry bout ur face dude..it was a reaction.

Uhoh..Gotta tell this story bout the asian female in the MONSOON today. First off, females can't drive. I'm sorry - I hate to say a blanket statement, but as a general rule , women can't drive. This female also was foreign , and driving in the midst of the storm, with fogged up windows. GET a defroster please. She's driving in both lanes , and when i finally pull up beside her , this female is eating chinese food with CHOPSTICKS. She then tops it off with a "I dont understand the words coming from your mouth" smile as I pass. The anger that flowed through my body was enough to KO Sho-nuff and the last dragon. (black movie reference) I gave her the deep mugg..not the normal Gangsta mug, but the FEMALE I'll END YOU mug. I then smirked as I pictured myself running her into oncoming traffic and then stealing the last bit of that fried rice. Yup you're right. Time for me to go to church and pray without ceasing.

Ok, But really, I'm getting better. I thought for a sec bout my Ex today. Realized I no longer hate her, and thats a good thing, as it really takes alot of energy to hate someone. I talked to another friend that things had gone sour with and fixed that as well. I realize that this life is too short to hate for long periods. It really distracts you from the beauty of life itself. Those very feelings of hurt and distaste and pain..those are signs that we are still alive. I'm trying to enjoy every experience, because you never know when It'll be your last. Well onto the girls, thats really what you wanted anyways..haha..pervert. JK. Really do Comment me though !!! I'd appreciate it!

The Girls: So I'm serving up a few of the newest hot wallpapers I made. If you wanna know who they are hit me up. I think I'll throw 4 or 5 as is the usual for me. ENJOY !!!

Music: So what have we for music today. You know, I really like alot of songs, so its a hard choice. Man I need to stop usin soo many commaz. Its my blog tho so I guess it doesn't matter.
I'm gonna throw out a joint I heard awhile ago, but that still makes me say wow. This guy JCOLE is killin the industry. He's lyrical and energetic. Unfortunately the game could really use some REAL hiphop again. Once again, Big ups to Solja for reinventing the industry , but I'm a grown ass man. I dont want to supersoak nuthin - He's getting big money and I got alot of respect for that dude butI 'm tryna listen to something that'll stimulate my mind. Thats it. Without Further Ado its Jcoles : Simba

Food: Man , a southern staple is catfish. Here is one of my favorite catfish recipe's ever. You can always dress it up a lil as you choose, bu this is sure to please the neighbors and your wallet. This is simple and delicious.

Mouthwatering Fried Catfish

Ingredients:

Enough catfish fillets for 3 or 4 medium
pieces per person.
1 cup Yellow Corn Meal (This should be enough
to coat the catfish fillets)
2 teaspoons Lawry's Seasoned Salt
Crisco or your favorite vegetable cooking oil.
(Enough to cover the catfish).

(I use a deep fryer although a frying pan will
work just as well)

The secret to fried catfish is cooking
it at just the right temperature to
seal in the moisture and flavor. When
you first drop it into the grease you
want to seal it and then cook it.

You can use fresh catfish fillets, or
you can use the farm raised variety
available in the supermarket freezer section.

Rinse the fillets thoroughly and then
pat dry with a paper towel. If using fresh
catfish, skin the catfish and then wash
thoroughly. Pat dry with a paper towel.

Roll the fresh, catfish fillets in
a mixture of corn meal and Lawry's
Seasoned Salt. If you cannot find
Lawry's Seasoned Salt, then your favorite
seasoned salt will have to do. It's
just that Lawry's Seasoned Salt is a
southern favorite. A quick way to coat
the fish in the corn meal and season
mixture is to place it in a plastic bag
and just shake it.

Drop into deep fryer at 325 degrees.
Fry until it turns golden brown, about
5 minutes. Dump onto paper towel and
allow to drain.

Serve with collard greens, macaroni
and cheese, cole slaw and hush puppies.

Makes me hungry just thinking about it.

ok what we have now is food :)

This is a recipe I found which is very Close to what I remember my mom making.

Becca's Jambalaya

INGREDIENTS

The ingredients are listed in amounts appropriate for a jambalaya batch for serving 12 people. You can easily double or triple the recipe.

  • Andouille and smoked sausage, sliced 1/4 inch thick - 2 cups
  • Tony Chachere's Creole Jambalaya Dinner Mix - 1 8-oz box
  • Water - 2 1/4 cups
  • Uncle Ben's converted original long grain rice - 1 cup
  • Chicken broth (homemade is best) 2 1/4 cups
  • Onion - a mix of yellow, red, and green onions (tops included), all chopped - 2 cups total
  • Bell peppers - a mix of yellow, red, and green, all chopped - 2 cups total
  • Celery, chopped - 1 cup
  • Garlic, minced - 1 heaping Tablespoon
  • Bay leaves - 2 (Make sure they are fresh and strong, if not, add more)
  • Whole cooked tomatoes - 1/3 of a 32-oz can, break up the tomatoes with your fingers as they go in, reserve the tomato juice to add if necessary
  • Diced tomatoes - 1/3 of a 14-oz can
  • Tomato sauce - 1/3 of an 8-oz can
  • Sugar - 1 pinch
  • Dried thyme - 1 teaspoon
  • Tabasco sauce - several sprinkles
  • Oregano - 1 teaspoon
  • Cayenne pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning - to taste
  • Fresh Shrimp, in shell, but cut to make it easy to remove from shell - 1 1/2 to 2 lbs (Remove shells and store shrimp in ice water while shelling.)
  • Lemon juice - juice of half a lemon for each lb of shrimp

METHOD

1 Prepare the vegetables and shrimp. It pays to get as much of the prep work done ahead of time, especially if you are making a large batch. Note that Becca gets her shrimp fresh, not frozen, in the shell, and butterfly cut to make it easy to de-shell. After chopping up all the vegetables, de-shelling the shrimp takes a bunch of time because you want to make sure to get all of the shell pieces out. As you de-shell the shrimp, place the shrimp in a bowl of cold water. When you are done de-shelling, strain the water from the shrimp and put the shrimp in the refrigerator to stay cold. You will not add the shrimp to the jambalaya until the last 2 minutes of making this dish.

cooking-sausage-web.jpg2 In a large skillet, fry the sausage slices on medium heat, in batches, until cooked through, about 15 minutes for each batch. As you finish each batch, pour out the sausage and whatever fat has been released into a large stockpot. The size of the stockpot depends on how much jambalaya you are making. For a this batch, I would use an 8-Qt stockpot.

tony-chacherres-mix-web.jpg3 Add Tony Chachere's Creole Jambalaya Dinner mix, and 2 1/4 cups of water for every box used. Add Uncle Ben's long grain rice and 2 1/4 cups of chicken broth for every cup of rice used. Add onions, bell peppers, and celery. Slowly bring mixture to a simmer, on MEDIUM heat. This is slow cooking. You want it on medium to prevent the jambalaya from burning. While the jambalaya is cooking, stir it every once in a while to make sure that nothing is sticking to the bottom.

jambalaya-1-web.jpg4 Add bay leaves, garlic, whole tomatoes (reserve juice), diced tomatoes, tomato sauce. Add thyme, tabasco, oregano, cayenne pepper. Slow cook on medium heat adding tomato juice and stock as needed, as the rice absorbs the liquid in the pot. You do not want it to get dried out, nor do you want it to be too liquidy. At this point, stir often to make sure nothing sticks to the bottom. Have the temperature be just a notch below a simmer. If it begins to boil, lower the heat, or add water. Cook slowly for an hour as the rice absorbs the liquid.

Becca with the Creole seasoning
5 While the jambalaya is cooking, taste frequently and adjust seasonings. Becca likes her jambalaya pretty hot; she says, "If you're not sweat'n, it's not hot enough!" She adds Tony Chacher's Creole seasoning to bring up the heat. Add to taste.

6 When the rice has absorbed as much moisture as it will, slowly fold in the shrimp. Add lemon juice (1/2 a lemon for each lb of shrimp). Cover and cook for 2 more minutes. Remove from heat and you're done.
